If you are in the position of needing to hire a Private Investigator, we are sorry that you are in the unfortunate position of needing one. However, let us congratulate you on taking the biggest step in the process – admitting that you are ready to get the professional assistance you need for a situation that must be very difficult for you. In our experience, when a person is at a point that warrants hiring us, it is most likely because you need our help due to something that is not going right. Here are just a few examples of what that may look like.
- It could be a cheating partner – you want to trust that they are working late all those nights at the office in Midtown East, but when you check the GPS, you see them actually in Gramercy Park. You’re told they were just dropping off a co-worker on the way home, but your gut tells you otherwise.
- You lost touch with someone special in your life – that best friend or the person you dated from high school. You both drifted apart when you moved out of Washington Heights to Fresh Meadows and you want to reconnect.
- You feel that one of your employees is trying to fake the extent of an injury on the job. They’re claiming they can’t work, which affects your productivity, and yet, another employee said he saw the same employee at a club in Hell’s Kitchen over the weekend. You need proof so you can stop paying them.
- Every time you call your ex to ask for your child support payment, you’re told that he can’t give it to you because he’s out of work. And yet, you spot him leaving a nice restaurant in Long Island City. He gets into a nice car and drives off. You suspect he is working off the books somewhere.
The list goes on and on. There are many reasons why you would need a professional Private Investigator. Now that you have accepted that, it is critical that you make the right choice in order to get the best possible results for your money. The right person can make or break your chances of success. So we want to give you some friendly advice on how to choose the right PI from a very long list of agencies.
First, go with a local place, not some national company that just farms out the work. You want someone that really knows the area and has the experience in and around the area to help you with your situation. Investigreat has been working in the New York City Area extensively for many years. We’ve handled thousands of cases, especially in Queens and Brooklyn. Our people know the area and are comfortable enough to blend in easily.
Next, make sure that the detective agency lives up to their claims. When we say that we are the “Best Private Investigators in Queens and Brooklyn” it’s not just us that are saying it. We have been chosen to receive the Expertise Award for “Best Private Investigators in New York City” for three consecutive years (2020, 2021 and 2022) as of January 2022. Why is that important? Let me explain what that means and why it is important in more detail.
Here is how Expertise describes their company “Expertise.com finds and reviews the top service professionals in over 200 industries across the U.S.. Each month, we research more than 60,000 businesses to help customers find the best-qualified professional for their needs. Our research process is always evolving to keep up with industry changes, so we’re confident that when we say a provider is one of the best, it is.” In order to make this coveted list, you have to be able to meet or excel at the following criteria:
- Availability
- Qualifications
- Reputation
- Experience
- Professionalism
So they have gone to the extent of doing the research for you. So if the Private Investigative Firm you are considering has not been acknowledged by Expertise, you may want to reconsider.
Also, remember to check the reviews. When you are dealing with a service that is more discrete, such as ours, you have to remember that having any reviews at all is a big deal. Another way to look at it would be this: if you hire an exterminator to get rid of a rodent problem, most people would not be of the mindset that they would want to brag about having a problem to begin with. So we can understand why they would not want to go online and publicize that situation to the world. The same goes for Private Investigators. We are in the business of helping people with private situations that they would like to keep confidential. So we keep our work highly confidential, as you would expect. So when you Google “Investigreat” and you see that we have a five-star rating, then you look at the number of reviews and see that we have 27 five-star ratings (as of January 2022), it means something. Some may have five stars as well but only have two or three reviews. You want to make sure that they have at least a dozen reviews in order to take those five stars seriously. They have to be good enough for someone to tell the internet about and in doing so, also disclose that they had an issue to deal with at the same time. When it comes to reviews for Private Investigators, it’s a “quality not quantity” thing.
The next thing is to “Google” the company you are considering. When you Google “Investigreat”, you will see that we are associated with some big places, such as “PI Magazine”, “Investigator’s Toolbox” and “StarterStory.com” to name a few. We actually came across our ranking in StarterStory.com when we were doing a random search on our company. We came to discover that StarterStory.com had done extensive research on Private Investigative Agencies all over the world and compiled a list of the top firms in the world overall. We were ranked against every private investigator in the world and were ranked as number twelve in 2022. So you need to make sure when you choose someone to help you that you choose wisely.
And finally, go with your gut. If you contact a Private Investigator and you feel as if they are more interested in your money than helping you, they are not the one to go with. We have been helping people for over 30 years with their investigative needs. We take the time to try and help our clients as much as possible. We work as a team to help you obtain the best possible outcome. So when you speak with the PI on the phone, make sure you get that same vibe. But most of all, talk to a few people and then call us last. You’ll be glad you did.
