Recently I had the honor of meeting and attending the lecture of Dr. Henry Lee, one of the world's foremost Forensic Scientists. The lecture took place at the Talcott Mountain Academy in Avon, CT.
Dr. Lee was born in China and relocated to Taiwan at an early age. He came to the United States with his wife Margaret and $50.00 in his pocket.
He has investigated thousands of cases in 46 countries which included the JonBenet Ramsey murder, the Elizabeth Smart, O.J. Simpson and Laci Peterson cases, the post 9/11 forensic investigation and the Washington DC sniper shootings.
He is based out of the University of New Haven. Currently he works on solving cold cases at the Henry C. Lee Institute of Forensic Science at the University of New Haven, but is also involved with many other projects as well.
Dr. Lee is an intelligent, interesting and very funny man. He had the audience in stitches throughout a majority of the presentation.
Dr. Lee stated that he speaks for the people that can't speak anymore. He emphasized to have respect for all life and that accumulating knowledge, hard work and teamwork helped make him a success.
According to Dr. Lee, "Make Impossible Possible".
Recently I met Gabe Cordell. He recently completed a trip from California to NY in a regular wheelchair. He is the only person to have ever done this. He is quite an inspiration and it was an honor to meet him. He said what surprised him most about the journey was the power of the human will.

"Private Investigations" (Dire Straits Lyrics)
It's a mystery to me - the game commences
For the usual fee - plus expenses
Confidential information - it's not a public inquiry
I go checking out the reports - digging up the dirt
You get to meet all sorts in this line of work
Treachery and treason - there's always an excuse for it
And when I find the reason I still can't get used to it
And what have you got at the end of the day?
What have you got to take away?
A bottle of whisky and a new set of lies
Blinds on the windows and a pain behind the eyes
Scarred for life – no compensation
